On the 17th March 2009, we took part in the under 9’s zonal County Chess Tournament representing Wirral. We both won all our games which means we will both receive a trophy which is known as a “Wendy”. The Cheshire under 9’s team came fourth overall so we are through to the final later in the year.
As a result of our success at U9, we were both asked to play for the U11 team the following week were the team finished seventh overall and qualifies for the plate final.
We are both proud to be representing our county and it is the first time that two boys from the same school have played for the same team. Well done Redcourt and thanks to Mr Alcock and our parents for helping us succeed.
